In the morning of July 9, 2009, Ms. Maria G. Saranti, the newly appointed consul general of Greece in Shanghai visited the library, exchanged ideas on 'Window of Shanghai'with Dr. Wu Jianzhong, director of Shanghai Library, and presented a book entitled Byzantium: An Oecumenical Empire as a gift. After the talk, Ms. Saranti was shown around in the library and paid particular visit to auditorium and exhibition halls, which are expected to provide potential opportunities of cooperation.
