The 4th Oslo-Shanghai Librarianship Seminar was held on September 23, 2009 in Oslo Public Library (OPL) and Oslo University College (OUC) with the theme centering 'Library and Life-Long Education'. Delegates from Shanghai Library, led by vice director He Yi, and representatives from OPL and OUC attended the two-day discussion, which mainly analyzed topics such as 'Shanghai Library lectures', 'Window of Shanghai' book donation, 'volunteering service', 'library & youth education', 'digital library construction' and 'digital learning'.
 

Oslo-Shanghai librarianship seminars are an indispensable part of cooperation among Shanghai Library, Oslo Public Library and Oslo University College. The event aims to strengthen ties of the three sides and promote cultural understandings between Shanghai and Oslo by means of academic exchange in terms of library science and practices and joint development of digital service as well as resource sharing. Sponsored by Foreign Ministry of Norway and Shanghai Government, it has enjoyed successive successes ever since 2005.
