Multilingual Service Launched to Greet 2010 Expo

To greet the forthcoming 2010 Expo and to better serve readers from all over the world, Shanghai Library has recently issued multilingual foldouts of library introduction as its first move of multilingual service. 9 versions have so far come out, including Chinese, English, Japanese, German, French, Russian, Korean, Spanish and Arabic while 2 more (i.e., Italian and Dutch) are being produced. The foldouts have been dispatched to libraries within Shanghai Central Library System and consulates in Shanghai for potential use.

Shanghai World Expo 2010 is expected to attract a great number of foreign guests to Shanghai. And in accordance with the requirement of 'barrier-free' language service, Shanghai Library is going to devote further efforts in terms of staff training, indicator improvement and website construction.
