Report Issued on 4th Shanghai International Library Forum

After an awarding stay in Shanghai, reference librarians Margaret Tarbox and Maggie Wang wrote down their experience of attending the 4th Shanghai International Library Forum (SILF), a biennial event held by Shanghai Library. Their detailed record of the three days was included into the March issue of Searcher, the magazine for database professional. SILF is a traditional practice of Shanghai Library that aims to develop into a ¡®world-class metropolitan library¡¯. To this end, the library pays enormous heed to the international trend of library services and sciences and attaches importance to interactions with overseas counterparts. The 5th SILF will coincide with the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, and it is the library¡¯s sincere wish to invite more foreign librarians to attend the forum as well as visiting the Expo site.
