The Taiwan Issue is of common concern in the Chinese society. Currently, the politicalsituation of Taiwan has witnessed some historic breakthroughs after the frustration of secessionist forces for ¡°Taiwan independence¡±. This lecture would invite Mr. Ni Yongjie, secretary-general of Taiwan Studies Society in Shanghai to analyze the current political situation of Taiwan from the perspectives of Taiwan authorities, cross-straits relations and the central government¡¯s policies towards Taiwan. 

About the Lecturer

Mr. Ni Yongjie is currently the secretary-general of Taiwan Studies Society in Shanghai. Graduated from Taiwan Studies Institute of Nanjing University, Mr. Ni has been devoted to the analysis of Taiwan issues with a focus on policies studies and numerous theses published in the field.
