The 7th Conference of Chinese Resources Construction and Sharing was held in University of Macau, November 8-10. The conference, focusing on the cooperative digitization of Chinese rare books and those published in the Republican Period (1911-1949), attracted around 100 Chinese librarians from China (including Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau) and other countries (mainly U.S.A.) for participation.
As one of the largest representative event of Chinese library circle, the conference made its first d¨¦but in Beijing eight years ago. The 7th meeting was co-sponsored by National Library of China (NLC) and Macao Foundation. Distinguished guests, including Mr. Zhan Furui, NLC director, Mr. Nie Quan, representative from Commission Office of PRC Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macao Special Administrative Region, Mr. Wu Zhiliang, executive member of Macau Foundation, Mr. Chen Zecheng, vice director of Cultural Affairs Bureau of Macau, Mr. Chen Mingjin, president of Association for Promoting Global Development and Sharing of Chinese Documents, and Mr. Pan Huadong, director of Macau University Library, attended the opening ceremony.
