On 4th December, 2011, the updated website of ‘Window of Shanghai’ was officially opened to the public. The new address is http://windowofshanghai.library.sh.cn/  The new website boasts highlights in the following three points.

The visual effect has been enhanced. The website was redesigned in a simple and fresh style, which makes visitors more comfortable when surfing it.

A label named ‘Partner’ was added on the home page, containing introductions of the ‘Window of Shanghai’ partners who had given their information. Later, more partners’ introductions will be added and some of the introductions will be updated. Visitor can easily search for partners’ information in this label.

The most important is in the middle of the home page, visitors can find three new columns – ‘Shanghai Library Interlibrary Loan (ILL)’, ‘Shanghai Library Exhibition’ and ‘Shanghai Library E-resources’. In these columns, IPAC and ten special collection databases, as well as lectures and exhibitions of the Shanghai Library are shared. Also, the partners can discuss with the Shanghai Library the potential for cooperation in interlibrary loan and document delivery.

The ‘Window of Shanghai’, basing on the new website, is marching towards its goal of providing partner with quality services and moreover, exploring cooperation in more dimensions with foreign libraries or related organizations.
