The RFID Data Model for Libraries Accepted as a National Standard

THE ‘RFID Data Model for Libraries’, prepared by a working group organised by the National Library of China, was recently accepted by the State Technical Committee of Library Standardization as a national standard applicable for the cultural sector.

The working group, consisting of RFID specialists coming from 10 Chinese libraries, submitted the third and the final version of the report after conducting detailed surveys on the ISO research findings regarding the RFID applications in libraries, and widely soliciting opinions and feedbacks of the libraries and chip manufacturers.

The ‘RFID Data Model for Libraries’ will serve as a standard for the RFID applications in the Chinese libraries and is expected to eliminate the waste of resources as a result of technical incompatibility.
