A five-person delegation of the ‘Academy of Romanian Scientists’, led by the Academy president Prof. PhD. Vasile CÂNDEA, paid a visit in the morning of November 16. Coming together were their Chinese counterparts from the Shanghai Academy of Science & Technology and the Shanghai Nanotechnology Promotion Center; and also Mr. TAN Huiming, the executive council member of the Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Mr. HE Yi, the deputy director of the Shanghai Library, met the guests in the VIP lounge at the second floor. A brief ceremony was held where a medal of honor was bestowed by Prof. Aurel PAPARI, the Rector of Andrei Şaguna University and the President of the Constanta branch of The Romanian Friendship Association with China, to deliver the gratitude to the Shanghai Library for its donation of the ‘Window of Shanghai’.

A total of 12 books were then presented to Mr. HE Yi as a gift in return from the Andrei Şaguna University Library, which will become the permanent holdings of the Shanghai Library.

The Andrei Şaguna University Library became a ‘Window of Shanghai’ partner in 2008 when the first 537 copies of books in 470 titles were sent from the Shanghai Library. Supplementary gift books were shipped to Romania in 2010.
