Mr. Arnþór Helgason, Chairman of Chinese Icelandic Cultural Society, leading a delegation, visited the Shanghai Library, accompanied by the staff from Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and its Shanghai branch. Mr. Helgason is the first blind person obtaining Bachelor’s Degree in Iceland and dedicates himself to promoting Sino-Icelandic cultural exchange and bilateral cooperation. Mr. Chen Chao, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Library discussed with Mr. Helgason and accepted from him Crane and the Pine tree: Chinese Music Beneath Northern Lights, CD made by Chinese musicians living in Iceland. Subsequently, the delegation was showed around the Friendship Library, the New Technology Demo Center and the Catalogue Hall.
