IN order to offer our users with an easier access to the dissertations published abroad, the Shanghai Library has subscribed in cooperation with some Chinese universities the access to the full texts of part of these academic papers, which are collected in PQDD, a full-text database held by ProQeust that is engaged in creating solutions to fit the worldwide research demands.
Now full texts of the ProQuest doctoral dissertations are accessible via the CALIS (China Academic Library and Information System) mirror, the Shanghai Jiaotong University mirror and the ISTIC (Institute of Science and Technical Information of China) mirror.
The subscription enables users of the Shanghai Library to search, view and download in PDF format the full texts of more than 300,000 dissertations, all free of charge.
The collection of the PQDD database keeps growing as we are continuously selecting and adding new theses every year. Now we sincerely invite you to participate in our selection work.
Please visit the abstract database of PQDD, the PQDT (ProQuest Dissertations & Theses) to select your desirable dissertations. Submit via pddd@libnet.sh.cn the entries that you have selected before November 30, 2011.
You are recommended to select papers published in the recent two years. Please be attentive that ProQuest doesn’t provide the full texts of the papers numbered AAI and beginning with the figure ‘0’ and letter C, D, T and U so please don’t make you choice among these titles.
The PQDT database is accessible as long as you have the internet connection. Click here to log to PQDT.
