Ms. Guohua WANG, East Asian Studies Librarian of Emory University, visited the Shanghai Library on the morning of 19th October, 2011 and was received as an honoured guest by Dr. Jianzhong WU, director of the Shanghai Library. Dr. WU suggested to worldwide popularize The Late Qing Dynasty Periodical Full-text Image Database (1833-1911), Shanghai Library’s new digital product made by Editorial Department of National Index to Chinese Newspapers & Periodicals. Ms. WANG completely agreed with the suggestion and promised to publicize the database when getting back to U.S. Then Ms. WANG went to visit the Zi-Ka-Wei Bibliotheca, which impressed her deeply. She wished for more cooperation with the Shanghai Library on western ancient books.
